Okay. I picked a bad example (ANA) to include in my post. Nonetheless, I do need some review and feedback from some folks who are educated about single-payer (from LeBow, PNHP training, and/or whatever else provided their education and awareness) to give whatever minutes of their time they can squeeze to do a review(s) and give some feedback. --- Bob

regarding the ANA being on this: people should remember that the ANA, in addition to being a shrinking and increasingly irrelevent organization, is an organization dominated by management nurses - nurse executives - who are pretty much devoted to the corporate line in health care - opposing staffing ratio laws and generally supporting the interests of the health care corporations over the interests of patients or bedside care nurses. No surprise to see them on this list. Others, like MoveOn should know better, but ahve bought into the line that single payer is "not politically feasible"

To Tim Lambert: why is this? Consider your question in light of the American Medical Students Association and the American Nurses Association both being on the list of what is referenced as either "partners" and "coalition members". I have looked at the list three times, and I still can't believe it. The answer is in education and networking. Anyone who wants to work with me on the education component and can occasionally devote a couple hours of time, please let me know --- bob@99oh9.org. I have a start on what I think is required. I mainly need occasional review and feedback to keep the development and me on track toward the best result. I will explain more to those who contact me. After you contact me, you can confirm if you want to participate or not. No advance obligation is expected. (by the way, what I am referring to is not yet on the 99oh9.org web site).

As a lay person I read with pleasure Dr. Don McCanne's daily articles. They are written so that any' thinking' person can understand them. Keep up the good work and some day soon we'll enjoy a single-payer universal health care system.

Many progressive sites on the internet have taken up the charge and are soliciting funds to support the "Health Care for America Now" proposal (including Move-on and Majority Now). Why is this and how can we help them to recognize the the fatal flaw of this proposal and stay true to the real progressive position of a single-payer system?
