After reading the pretty enlightening posts by Dr Geyman, I have the following questions about HR 676 that I hope someone can help answer for me.

I believe that something along the lines of HR 676 needs to be enacted. How will it cover those that have lost their job? For how long? What do you do about free-loaders or illegal immigrants?

Will the proposed 7.7% employer tax and the 2% income tax increase truly cover the health care expenses of this country? I am sure that someone has run the numbers. What happens as those expenses rise? Wages are not keeping up with the increasing costs of health care. Will we be faced with increases in the 2% tax to cover these costs?

And finally, and probably most importantly, the eradication of private health insurance providers, administrators and sales staff will leave hundreds of thousands of people unemployed in this country. Though the ultimate goal is admirable, what do we do in the mean time with all the unemployment that HR 676 will produce?
