Dr. Jeoffry B. Gordon of San Diego writes:
When I reached Medicare age and enrolled (very good for me since I have diabetes), both my wife and my 24-year-old daughter became uninsurable. My wife had had thyroid cancer and my daughter spent a night in the emergency room and a day in the hospital due to ruptured ovarian cyst. We got around this by incorporating my wife’s business. In California, insurance companies are required to issue insurance to corporations. My wife and daughter did get high-deductible policies at very high premiums.
