Worse, it has become apparent from comments made by Senator Conrad that the public option no matter how one defines it is dead in the Senate. President Obama and his administration have already hinted at dropping the public option. All of this is very dissappointing and means that any move toward a single payer system in America is a very long way off. Dr. James Farrow (New Orleans)</description>
