I do not envy Kathleen Sebelius, our secretary of Health and Human Services. Her job compels her to defend our health care system.
Her March 20 op-ed was headlined, “Health care is on the mend across the U.S.” Unfortunately, the U.S. health care system is far from being on the mend. To the contrary; the U.S. health care system fails irrefutably and unacceptably with both its economics and its ethics.
Fortunately, a single-payer, universal health care, also known as Improved and Expanded Medicare for All (H.R. 676 in Congress), offers a singular and simple solution for both the economics and ethics of our failed system.
