Reproductive health researcher and Planned Parenthood of Montana Chief Medical Officer Dr. Samuel Dickman appeared on āThe Katie Phang Showā on MSNBC on January 27, 2024. Dr. Dickman discussed his recent study inĀ JAMA Internal Medicine, which estimated nearly 65,000 pregnancies related to sexual assault in the 14 states that have outlawed abortion following the overturning ofĀ Roe v. Wade.
āI wish research like this wasnāt necessary,ā said Dr. Dickman, who also urged for the bans to be reversed. āI wish that sexual violence was not so common, and that survivors were able to access medical care.ā
