As Health Policy Fellow for Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Stephanie Kang was instrumental in crafting H.R. 1384, the Medicare for All Act of 2019. She discusses that bill in detail, noting that we need fundamental single-payer reform to address our health care crisis, not more in a series of expensive, convoluted tweaks. “The last 50 years are proof as to why incremental reforms don’t work.”
