Medical students and future health professionals are working to organize a rally in support of single-payer health care in Montpelier, Vermont on Saturday, March 26 sponsored by Physicians for a National Health Program and the American Medical Students Association.
We are planning a rally of health professionals and students to be held on March 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vermont Statehouse to urge lawmakers to lead the nation by enacting single payer now. Click here for the rally flyer. Our goal is to bring people from the area to show our support for Vermontās historic effort. We hope that a good turn-out will increase the likelihood of passage of a single-payer bill in Vermont and that coverage of the event will show legislators in other states that health professionals are committed to single-payer.
Schedule of events:
11:30 a.m. – We invite you to join us for a pre-Rally meet-up at the Montpelier High School Cafeteria at 5 High School Drive to make more rally signs and meet other activists.
12:30 p.m. – March to the Statehouse with people from all across the country accompanied by a brass band.
12:45 p.m. – Meet outside the Vermont Statehouse at 115 State St. in Montpelier for photos and chants.

This issue is important to health professional students as we see how patients are harmed by un-insurance and under-insurance, and we support the model of a system that provides affordable benefits for everyone.
