As a reader of Academy in Action, you likely know that we have been conducting a member survey to gauge your views on the components of the health care reform proposals being discussed in Sacramento. The preliminary results are in and here’s what you said:
- Your top two priorities for health care reform are health insurance for the uninsured and the adoption of a single payer approach to health care.
- A single payer approach to health care is supported by 59 percent of Academy respondents.

Although this is not a scientific poll, it does demonstrate strong support by family physicians for single payer reform.
Feasible or not, the revolution is coming.
